Bampton distillery creates new gin for Helen Browning's Organic
Oxfordshire gin company Wood Brothers Distilling Company has created a special gin for North Wiltshire organic farmer and food producer Helen Browning’s Organic.
This authentic, organic London Dry gin has been inspired by Helen’s agroforestry project, with some of the botanicals grown on the farm. Agroforestry is a farming method that uses pioneering agriculture to combine planting trees, plants and crops together in order to build soil health and organic matter. The distinct flavour profile of sea buckthorn, an emerging superfood, is mellowed out by the pear, fresh honey and herbal notes.
The bottle itself is made from recycled glass with a recyclable mineral paper label and seal finished with soft wooden cork. Refillable pouches are then available to refill the bottle. When finished, customers can post the refill pouches back to Helen Browning’s Organic for recycling.
Charlie, one half of the Wood Brothers said: “It is handcrafted in small batches with sweet pear and bittersweet sea buckthorn. It is certified by the Soil Association and will be available to purchase online at Helen Browning’s Organic shop as well as served at Helen Browning’s Royal Oak.
“It was a pleasure to work with Helen and her team to come up with this organic gin, Helen is the CEO of the Soil Association so we understood the importance of getting this right. “
Helen Browning’s family has farmed at Eastbrook Farm for 67 years and invests in forward-thinking farming methods, seeking out ways to farm that are as good as they possibly can be for people, farm animals and nature.
Helen said: “Our farm is at the heart of everything we do. Our agroforestry project is already making a positive impact on the soil on which we depend and the wildlife that live on the land. Now, excitingly, we can capture Eastbrook Farm in a bottle.”
