Thames Valley: James Cowper makes partner promotion

Thames Valley accountants and business advisers James Cowper has promoted Alan Poole to partner in the audit and assurance team. The promotion takes effect from May 1, 2014.

Poole joined James Cowper in 2010 following 12 years with a top-six firm. He works with ambitious and fast-growing owner-managed, VC-backed and publicly-listed businesses. He has experience in a wide range of sectors and a particular expertise in businesses in the IT and service sectors. He also works with numerous international businesses, including UK subsidiaries of overseas groups and UK-headed multinationals.

Commenting on his promotion Poole said: “I have had a great few years since joining James Cowper and am delighted to become a partner in what is a terrific and successful firm. I am privileged to work with many talented people and to serve many great clients, and I look forward to helping develop the firm further over the coming years.”

Managing partner Steve Clarke added: “I would like to extend the firm’s congratulations to Alan. He has developed a strong and loyal client base and demonstrated good leadership qualities. This promotion is well deserved and we look forward to working with him as his career continues to progress.”
