Smith & Williamson, the accountants and financial advisory group, is making changes in the management of its Southampton office in the light of strong growth and market potential.

The office has grown from a standing start five years ago to a team of over 50 directors and staff, with an impressive 20% growth last year. Chris Appleton, who has led the office for the last five years, will be moving up to take on a wider market role both nationally and locally becoming senior director of the Southampton office whilst Richard Green will take on the role of managing director for the office.

Appleton explained: “The market opportunities for a firm with Smith & Williamson’s expertise and growth is exciting and I relish the new challenge. In Richard Green we have a highly respected professional who is extremely well regarded both within the firm and across the south coast market and I am confident that this new initiative will be the platform for further growth in our services to local business.”
