Paris Smith LLP has announced two senior promotions following the decision of its current senior partner Richard Smith to retire at the end of the year.

Current managing partner Nick Vaughan has been elected senior partner, whilst Andrew Heathcock takes over as managing partner at the Southampton-based law firm.

A commercial property specialist, Vaughan acts for banks, lenders and finance companies, and provides advice to public sector and corporate organisations. He is an expert on charities and not for profit organisations.

“I am extremely proud to lead the firm. This year we celebrate 190 years of legal services to the region and our expertise and reputation are second to none. We will continue to develop the areas of support we can offer to the business and private community,” said Vaughan.

Andrew Heathcock is a former head of the firm’s commercial division and presently finance partner. “I am looking forward to taking up the role in what is sure to be a challenging time during the coming months,” he added. “We have a very fine firm and I am determined to make sure that our tradition of quality advice and service to our clients and the wider community continues.”
