The rapidly declining economy is prompting a fast growing demand for dispute resolution services from south coast law firm Moore Blatch – triggering the need for the firm’s team to expand.

In recent times, the Southampton-based outfit has seen a significant increase in its caseload – with even more expected in the coming year. For the second time in 12 months, this growth has prompted the firm to recruit additional experts, in the field of professional negligence in particular.

Partner and head of dispute resolution Paul Whitaker said the firm’s expertise and case success in professional negligence - together with the rapidly deteriorating economic climate - created additional demand for dispute resolution services.

“We have worked hard to build an enviable reputation in this field of law – and our aim in every case we handle is to resolve disputes quickly, successfully and cost effectively," he said.

“We already have one of the strongest dispute resolution teams in the south and we are delighted to have appointed seven additional key team members to reinforce our position as this market continues to expand."

The latest recruits have a range of experience – offering clients a skilled and varied pool of experts.

Solicitors Mark Robertson and Miranda Kemp have joined the firm to specialise in professional negligence and property litigation respectively. Also joining the professional negligence team is paralegal Rachel Mott and Anthony Fairweather who has been promoted to trainee paralegal.

Maxine Bell has joined the firm’s lender services division and will de dealing with repossession sale cases – an area which has inevitably witnessed a marked increase of late.

Lastly, Sarah Mould and Sarah Parker have moved departments within the firm to join the dispute resolution department as debt recovery assistants.

This new intake of staff takes the department total to more than 50, making it one of the largest dispute resolutions teams in the area.

Moore Blatch has one of the region’s largest commercial divisions. With offices in Southampton, Lymington and Richmond, it has more than 220 staff and a heritage dating back to 1797.
