Enable Law, the specialist medical negligence, personal injury and mental capacity firm, has announced its expansion in Southampton with the acquisition of Blake Morgan's Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Costs teams.

Enable Law will be joined by three Partners, Alison McClure, Kym Provan and John White, and 22 staff. The team will be based at the White Building alongside sister firm Foot Anstey. The addition of the new team members makes Enable Law one the largest specialist medical negligence firms in the South of the UK.

Rob Antrobus, Partner and Director of Enable Law, said: "We are delighted to be expanding our presence in the South with the addition of the new team. The team have a strong fit with Enable Law's approach and values and have industry-leading reputations. We hope that this growth will allow us to reach more people in need of our support."

Blake Morgan's Managing Partner, Mike Wilson, said: "Today we are announcing the successful transfer of our Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury group to Enable Law. While we’re sorry to see our colleagues go, Enable Law is the best fit for the practice, and it allows Blake Morgan to focus efforts on growing our healthcare work. We believe it’s the right move for the firm and Enable Law will be able to invest further in the great work the teams have done to date – and no doubt will continue to do. We wish our colleagues and Enable Law the very best for the future."

Enable Law is part of the Foot Anstey Group and became a separately regulated entity in 2017. This is the latest in a series of high profile, senior appointments to Foot Anstey Group's Southampton office. It follows recent arrivals of an employment team led by Partner Sarah Peacock and private wealth team led by Partner Rachel Brooks. Foot Anstey first moved to Southampton in 2016 with a team of five real estate lawyers led by Partner Martin Hirst. The Group then moved to the White Building in 2017. With the addition of the new Enable Law team the office is now the base for over 60 employees.
