Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced the promotion of Steve Le Bas to partner in its Southampton office.
Le Bas works with listed, PE-backed and owner-managed businesses with a turnover between £5 million and £500m across a broad range of industries. He has a particular specialism in the motor retail sector and has made a significant contribution to the growth of BDO’s motor retail business.
Le Bas qualified as a chartered accountant in 1995 at Burnett Swayne, which was acquired by Numerica in 2002, the Southampton office of which was acquired in turn by BDO in 2005.
He said: “I am delighted to have been promoted to the position of partner. I look forward to helping both the UK business and the office in Southampton grow and develop in what is an exciting time for the firm and the office.”
Malcolm Thixton, partner and head of BDO LLP in Southampton, said: “BDO has grown by 40% over the past three years, both through its merger and organically. Steve’s appointment will continue to boost our mid-market position, strengthen our expertise in the motor retail sector, and continue to grow and develop the team in Southampton.”
