Demand for permanent legal professionals in the South East rose by 25% year-on-year to May 2018 according to research from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo).
The data, provided by recruitment software company, Innovantage, also reveals a notable increase in vacancies for science and technology which rose by 18%.
Commenting on the data, Rina Durban, regional director at APSCo said: “The South East’s employment market is performing exceptionally well with both legal and science & technology sectors continuing to grow rapidly. Following a recent merger, law firm, Coffin Mew, experienced growth of over 30%, positioning it as the fastest growing law firm in the South East. The company, which has offices in Southampton, Brighton, Swindon and Portsmouth, is now looking at other opportunities to accelerate growth which looks set to increase demand for professionals in the sector.”
“Additionally, recent reports reveal Brighton has become a centre for technology development, with Brighton based digital tech company, Make Real, accessing funds to hire new talent and develop their products. This investment will help fuel further growth and strengthen the sector within the region.”
