Sixteen new faces join Gateley Legal’s Guildford Residential Development team
Gateley Legal’s Residential Development team in Guildford has expanded with 16 new appointments.
Following a successful few months for the team, which has seen a surge in its client base, received instructions and housebuilder panel appointments, Gateley has taken on new staff to keep up with its workload in London, the South East and parts of the South West.
Joining in the role of Legal Director is Helen Rogers, who brings more than 25 years’ experience in commercial and residential property. She was previously charged with leading a Residential Development department, a role she spent 12 years in. Her new position sees her supporting Gateley Legal’s regional and national housebuilder clients.
Chris Carr, who has worked with a number of housebuilders and housing associations across his 18 year career to date, has been appointed as a senior associate. At Gateley, Carr will focus on the firm’s retirement living, affordable housing and housebuilder clients, along with associated infrastructure agreements.
Gateley Legal is also looking to the future by introducing initiatives intended to bring through a new generation of talent: the frame work promotion programme, designed for trainees through to senior conveyancers, and apprenticeship schemes.

Louise Paterson, partner at Gateley Legal, Guildford, said: “Due to consistently delivering outstanding service to clients, we’re receiving a high number of repeat instructions alongside work from new clients.
“To ensure that this workload is carried out to our high standards, we are expanding and investing in the team. Helen and Chris bring with them a wide range of experience in site set up”.
“As well as building up specialisms, we are investing heavily into the training of new talent to create a home-grown team that truly understands the needs of our developer clients.
“We are also expanding our service with additional tools such as advanced CRM system integration - which is an exciting development - and will be a great offering for our clients.”
The appointments come during a successful period for Gateley more generally, having reported a 13 per cent rise in annual revenue last month (September).
The new appointments to the Guildford office join Keith Lancaster, who was appointed as Legal Director there in August.
