Portsmouth-based energy saving company Sunpowered Energy Systems has purchased new premises with the support from The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Sunpowered Energy Systems has been operating since 1994, originally set up to explore alternative forms of energy and change the public’s attitude. Today, it is recognised as a leading supplier and installer of solar energy to the domestic and commercial market. Government funding has enabled Sunpowered to explore the commercial marketplace further by working closely with the Housing Association and architects for new builds to advise and consult on hot water systems installation. New premises were required by Sunpowered for storage of equipment, as demand for this type of energy has increased, which was funded by RBS.

To support their expansion of premises, Sean Cavendish, MD of Sunpowered Energy Systems, contacted the RBS team to discuss a financial strategy to meet their business plans. Working closely with David Bushby, business development manager at RBS, a finance package was put in place allowing the business to purchase their new premises at a unit on Kirpal Road, Portsmouth.

Sean Cavendish, managing director of Sunpowered, commented: “David has worked hard to understand our business and the responsibility we have to the Energy industry, which I am grateful for. The purchase of our new premises will see the company expand on to the next level of growth and increase our footprint in the commercial marketplace. The finance package offered by RBS distinguished them from the competition and filled us with the confidence to switch our banking facilities at the same time.”

Bushby commented: "RBS is delighted to be able to support Sunpowered Energy Systems at their time of expansion. I welcome Sean and his team to RBS and look forward to supporting them as the company continues to expand their presence both locally and nationally.”
