Chartered tax adviser and chartered accountant Penny Bowen has been appointed by Shaw Gibbs LLP in Oxford to manage the personal tax team.
In recent years Bowen has been honing her skills working with professionals in the dental sector assisting them with tax advisory services such as determination of the financial savings on building works, practice acquisition or disposal, and practice incorporation, as well as tax compliance. She has also specialised in assisting clients with questions about the NHS Pension Scheme.
She trained as an accountant and qualified ACCA, and subsequently went on to work in the higher and further education sectors, running course programmes and lecturing in accountancy, tax, finance & management, having also qualified as lecturer.
Her return to accountancy practice focused on the taxation of high-net-worth individuals, many of whom ran owner-managed businesses.
Bowen is currently working towards the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates to enhance her skills.
