The Oxford office of solicitors Manches LLP recently acted for Oxford University spin-out, OrganOx, in the appointment of Team Consulting (Cambridge), to turn OrganOx's new invention into a manufacture-ready product.
The OrganOx technology (exclusively licensed from the University's technology transfer company, Isis Innovation) enables livers to be preserved for up to three times longer than is possible by conventional cold storage. Team Consulting will be working closely with OrganOx in all steps of the design process leading to the manufacture of prototypes and pilot builds of first products.
IP specialists Catherine Rohll and Talitha Shkopiak from Manches advised Abingdon-based OrganOx in relation to the contractual relationship with Team Consulting in general and in particular in relation to intellectual property and confidentiality issues. Manches helped to secure for OrganOx ownership of intellectual property rights essential to the future growth of the company, while maintaining for Team the scope to grow and develop in their industry sector.
