Leading law firm Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons has advised on the purchase of Residential 1 (R1) by MPHL.

R1 has since become part of the Money Partners Group, a specialist secured lender in the residential property owning arena.

Edward Lee of Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons advised MHPL. It was vital to the buyers, given that the sellers were continuing to be involved in the new venture, that their chosen lawyers took a very commercial approach.

Karl Spielmann of MPHL commented: “Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons provided a first-class service throughout. Edward and his team showed a strong appreciation of the commercial objectives of both parties at all times and we look forward to working with Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons again in the future.”

Lee, who is head of corporate at Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons, said: ”Where the sellers and buyers have an ongoing relationship you have to approach the negotiation on the basis of a ‘win-win’ scenario. In situations like these commercial sensitivity is just as important as technical expertise”
