The new management team at Flowplant

Salisbury-based provider of high-pressure jetting and pumping solutions Flowplant has announced a management buyout.

Steve Smith, Edward Miles, and Barry Pidgeon have acquired the entire share capital of the group through their newly-formed entity SSPM Holdings Limited.

Under the leadership of Steve Smith, majority shareholder and now Group Managing Director for SSPM Holdings, the management buyout signals an exciting new chapter for the company.

Edward Miles will be promoted to the role of Engineering Director, overseeing the Rolls- Royce Project, Quality, and Engineering Department.

Barry Pidgeon will continue his excellent work as Sales Director, ensuring continued growth and customer satisfaction within the Sales and Service team.

Simultaneously, in the United States, Jennifer Pederson, CEO, has acquired a minority shareholding in Harben Inc, further solidifying the company's commitment to growth and excellence in the American market.

Alistair Hiscock and Mark Bastable have resigned from their positions as officers and directors in all group companies, while Alistair Hiscock has retired from the company, although he will continue to work ad hoc on consultancy projects.

Mark Bastable will remain as an advisor to the board, providing valuable guidance during the transition into the new ownership.


Peter Davison is deputy editor of The Business Magazine. He has spent his life in journalism – doing work experience in newsrooms in and around Bristol while still at school, and landing his first job on a local newspaper aged 19. By 28 he was the youngest newspaper editor in the country.

An early advocate of online news, he spent the first years of the 2000s telling his bosses that the internet posed both the biggest opportunity and greatest threat to the newspaper industry and the art of journalism. He was right on both counts.
