Graeme Nuttall to headline Employee Ownership conference
A key figure in the proliferation of Employee Ownership (EO) is to speak at The Business Magazine's event aimed at business owners exploring exit options.
Graeme Nuttall OBE is the author of 'Sharing Success: The Nuttall Review of Employee Ownership' which shaped the UK Government's policy and approach to companies transitioning to this model.
His talk at the event has the title: "The inside story on how the EOT became an internationally renowned business succession solution".
Graeme was the UK Coalition Government's independent adviser on employee ownership (2012-2015) and as result of the Nuttall Review, the UK's trust model of employee ownership received statutory recognition in the Finance Act 2014 in the form of the EOT.
Employee ownership is now a mainstream UK business model with almost all new employee-owned companies adopting EOT ownership.
Richard Thompson, CEO of The Business Magazine, said: "Employee Ownership presents a rewarding exit for business owners while also rewarding staff and ensuring that the business remains within the community that it is based.
"We are delighted to have Graeme Nuttall, who was one of the key figures in the creation of Employee Ownership Trusts, speak at the event which should prove valuable to anyone considering going down the Employee Ownership road."
Graeme Nuttall OBE has a career long involvement in employee ownership policy making and research.
He is a partner in the European law firm Fieldfisher, an Executive Fellow at Rutger's Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing, a Fellow of Ownership at Work, a trustee of the Institute for the Future of Work Research Associate at the Centre for Mutual and Co-owned Business, Kellogg College, University of Oxford and chair of several employee ownership trust (EOT) trustee companies.
Graeme received an OBE in the Queen's 2014 Birthday Honours for services to employee share plans, public service mutuals and employee ownership.
