Bristol-based national law firm Foot Anstey LLP has bolstered its dedicated developer sector team with the appointment of partner Philip Brown.

Philip joins Foot Anstey's real estate group and developer sector team bringing a wide range of expertise in land development, with particular emphasis on commercial and residential development and the securing of development and project finance.

Philip acts for national, regional and local developers, landowners, and banks and alternative lenders, as well as investment companies.

He advises clients on strategic acquisition and development projects and in relation to secured lending for development projects.

This is the third hire Foot Anstey has made within its dedicated developer sector team since January, which the firm says demonstrates the investment it is making in this core focus area.

Philip joins affordable housing expert Georgina Massey (managing associate) and Alice Cutler (solicitor) in the rapidly growing team.

Patrick Wetherall, partner and head of real estate and developer sector at Foot Anstey, said: "The developer sector is a key focus for us as a firm. We have a 65+ dedicated team with an enviable track record and investing in top talent is a key part of our growth strategy. Philip brings specific industry knowledge which will strengthen our growing team."

Philip added: "I am thrilled to join Foot Anstey who have a market-leading presence in the developer sector, together with a clear appetite and strategy for growth, and I am very much looking forward to adding to and growing the firm’s reputation in this important sector.

"My experience in acting for developers, both big and small, and landowners disposing of land for development, taking projects from conception through to completion, has been built over a significant number of years and I am excited to bring that experience to Foot Anstey."
