Five things to consider when entering your deals into the Solent Deals Awards

With nominations now being accepted for the Solent Deals Awards 2024, it’s time to submit your deals for the chance to be crowned a winner at this year’s event.

As always, there’s a wide range of categories up for grabs at our black-tie gala ceremony as we seek to acknowledge all the top names in the region from corporate finance advisers and lawyers to due diligence teams and, of course, dealmakers.

But no matter how many awards we have available, the Small Deal of the Year, Mid-Range Deal of the Year and Large Deal of the Year always seem to be among the favourites.

This year, CMA Recruitment Group and Paris Smith have joined us to sponsor the Mid-Range and Large Deal of the Year, and we’re gearing up to present our sought-after trophies to some well-deserving winners.

But what should you be focusing on when submitting your nominations? Here are five things to consider when entering your deals into the Solent Deals Awards 2023:

The complexity of the deal – we're looking for deals that really impress our independent judges. Having completed a highly complex deal is an easy fast-track to sticking in the forefront of our judges’ minds.

The quality of your solutions – beyond the complexity of any transactions, judges will be looking at any specific challenges faced by you and your team and how you were able to implement innovative solutions to complete your deals.

The speed of the deal’s completion – to have the best chance of taking home a trophy from this year’s event, you should have made use of processes that are not only effective, but efficient. While the complexity of your deals will make you stand out from the vast majority of nominees, the speed of their completion will be instrumental in defining you as a winner.

How did you impact the businesses involved – a strong entry in any category will come from a company that has had a positive influence on other businesses they’ve been involved with. The quality of your deals will be dictated by their effects on other businesses as much as their effects on yours.

How did you impact the local economy – a good deal is one that benefits everyone. Mindfulness of the economic impacts of your deals and the ability to look past the immediate world of business is something that will be put under close scrutiny by our independent judges.

Still haven’t entered your deals into the awards?

What are you waiting for? Now is the time to head over to the event page and enter for your chance to be named among the best-of-the-best at the Solent Deals Awards.

Entering online is quick, easy and free – there's nothing to lose and everything to gain when you enter for your chance to take home a trophy from this year’s event.

Thank you again to CMA Recruitment Group and Paris Smith for sponsoring these awards.
