ECI, the private equity firm, has invested in Brighton business ISMS.online, a SaaS Information Security Management System (ISMS).

SMS.online provides global SMEs and Enterprise customers with an easy-to-use cloud-hosted ISMS to facilitate the adoption of ISO 27001 and over 100 other standards.

The company created the above system in response to a 450 per cent increase in ISO 27001 certifications in the last 10 years.

Investment Director at ECI, Daniel Bailey, said: ''ISMS.online is a great business at the cross section of SaaS, compliance and cyber security – all very interesting growth markets.

''We have been incredibly impressed by the ISMS.online team. The platform, business and culture they have built are truly fantastic, and we like the business’ positive purpose – specifically to help customers manage and improve the security of their data and assets.

''With demand for ISOs increasing and more organisations looking for certifications such as ISO 27001, ISMS.online has a real opportunity to continue its highly impressive trajectory to date. We look forward to working with Luke and the ISMS.online team.”

The deal provides a full realisation for Cow Corner, an investor focused on UK services and software businesses, following a highly successful four-year investment partnership.

Cow Corner first invested in the firm in 2019, with ISMS.online since growing to become a market-leading ISMS globally.

CEO of ISMS.online, Luke Dash, said: ''With Cow Corner’s backing we have built a best—in-class platform and become a market leader in the ISMS space.

''Cow Corner have been a brilliant partner, but now is the right time for a new investor to take the business through the next stage of growth and accelerate our global expansion plans.

''The investment will also enable us to invest further in product development and enhance our offering to customers. We’d like to thank the Cow Corner team for all their support and look forward to the next stage of our journey with ECI.”
