Law firm BDB Pitmans has advised finnCap and Canaccord Genuity on another successful share placing by K3 Capital Group to raise gross proceeds of £10 million. The placing completed on 7 July 2021, and the proceeds raised funded K3’s acquisition of Knight Corporate Finance Group and Knight R&D.

K3 is a multidisciplinary professional services firm headquartered in Bolton with operations throughout the UK. The company which is listed on London Stock Exchange’s AIM market advises clients on the presentation of their businesses for sale, sourcing potential acquirers and project management of transactions through its trading subsidiaries.

Knight CF is a sector-specific corporate finance boutique advising clients in the technology and telecoms sector, while Knight R&D is a specialist research and development tax advisory firm servicing UK SMEs.

The acquisition of Knight FC and Knight R&D will enable further diversification within K3’s existing divisions by permitting the extension of its sector specialisation.

Corporate partner, Oliver Pilkington (pictured), led the BDB Pitmans team and was supported by associate Daniela Munro. The team advised on the accelerated book building mechanism through which the placing was conducted.

Commenting on the transaction, BDB Pitmans' Pilkington says: "This was a great opportunity to work with finnCap, Canaccord and the team at K3, and we’re delighted to have been able to assist them with another successful fundraising."
