And the Thames Valley Law Firm of the Year award goes to...
Thames Valley Deals Awards, staged by The Business Magazine and sponsored by Wealth Management firm UBS, returns on November 3.
Among the accolades bestowed on the evening is Law Firm of the Year. This ThinCats-sponsored award will be presented to the law firm that has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.
Nominations are now being accepted for Law Firm of the Year and other Thames Valley Deals Award categories. The nomination process is fast and free and can be completed here.
The time frame for deals eligible for consideration is Jan 1st 21 to Dec 31st 2021.
The Law Firm of the Year at TV Deals 2021 was HCR Law. The UK law firm has strong representation in the Thames Valley.
Reflecting on the win Rob Rice, Partner Harrison Clark Rickerbys said: "We have had a tremendously busy year. I’m really pleased that we bucked the trend in attracting new staff and growing rapidly.
"This (award) is a testament to our clients and we have had a consistent deal flow. It demonstrates how resilient the region has been. There has been a lot of investment in technology companies and a lot of inbound US investment.”
Award sponsor Thincats, who incidentally won Non-Bank Lender of the Year at our 2021 TV Deals Awards, stated its admiration for businesses who espouse talent, creativity and hard work.
Stuart Thompson, Director, ThinCats, said: "What has been key for us is understanding the challenges clients have faced, not only in the last 18 months but also pre and post-Covid.”
"At ThinCats we believe talent, creativity and hard work should be the drivers of success for UK businesses, not access to funding. Mid-sized SMEs account for more than 25% of UK GDP yet often struggle to access the finance they need. ThinCats exists to fill this gap and help these businesses thrive.
"Combining the latest in data analytics with traditional lending skills and a regional network of business finance specialists, we create funding solutions from £1m - £15m that are bespoke to the needs of every SME that we support. We provide funding for working capital, growth finance – including acquisitions and MBOs – and refinancing existing loans.
"To help businesses find the right funding solution, we have a network of regional funding and credit experts across the UK, working with the borrower and adviser throughout the process, seeking to become long-term partners rather than one-off suppliers."
