Alton-based Scientific Support Services Ltd (SSS), the provider of scientific instruments, supplies and services, has been acquired by Los Angeles-based Calibre Scientific.

Finances for the deal are as of yet undisclosed.

SSS caters to customers in the petrochemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, clinical, and food and flavors sectors.

The firm has a diversified product portfolio that includes chromatography systems, hydrogen and air generators, gas mixers and diluters, XRF analyzers and optical instruments.

This acquisition is set to reinforce Calibre Scientific's commitment to expanding its product and service offering in the British Isles.
