Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP has advised the Oratory Schools Association on its sale of the Oratory Preparatory School to Bellevue Education.

The Oratory School, based at Woodcote, north of Reading, is an independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 11-18.

Martin Halsall, bursar of the Oratory Schools Association, commented: “The complexity of the transaction meant that we were involved with several different departments within the firm, including advice on Corporate and Commercial, Charities & Education, Employment and Property matters. Without exception, we experienced highly professional, pragmatic and timely advice which enabled us to complete within a very demanding timescale.”

Partner Nick Burrows, head of the firm’s Charities & Education team, said: “We were delighted to be able to help the Oratory School complete this important and complex transaction. The sale of the Preparatory School was completed to a tight timescale and, as is often the case in such matters, involved several teams from within the firm working together to achieve our client’s objective.”

Blandy & Blandy is experienced in advising clients in the education sector, including universities, colleges, independent and state schools, student unions and educational charities.
