Windsor and Eton Brewery have launched a special commemorative ale to mark Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

The Castle Hill Platinum Pale Ale is brewed from barley grown on the Royal Farm Windsor, a selection of specially chosen hops and Champagne yeast for that celebratory edge.

The new beer joins a product line which also includes Guardsman, Kinghts of the Garter and Windsor Knot brands.

The beer is brewed on Vansittart Estate in commemoration of 70 years of public service by Queen Elizabeth II. Local artist Basia Dobrzalska was commissioned to create the bottledesign. Dobrzalska’s popular series of Windsor and Eton art prints are influenced by vintage travel posters with a modern twist.

Will Calvert, co-founder and managing director of Windsor and Eton Brewery, said: “We want to brew something that goes with summer celebrations and picnics on the Long Walk so it is pale golden in colour, and refreshing with citrus hops balancing traditional malt flavours.”

The ale was officially launched on Friday, February 18. Customers had their first taste of the new drink at the brewery's Knightclub this week.

The brewery also plan to launch the Castle Hill Ale in casks this summer.
