Winchester: Co-working venue The Workstead opens to support women in business
The Workstead, a co-working venue aimed primarily at women, has open in Winchester. Offering a range of desk and meeting spaces it provides flexible solutions to women who are developing businesses.
The Workstead will also be programming a range of inspiring talks and workshops to support women in business, with topics including tackling tax, networking skills and leadership qualities from a range of inspirational speakers.
Founder and director Lucy Futter explained: “As a busy mum of two, I know how hard it is to juggle family life with a career. I felt there was an opportunity to create a supportive venue which provides dedicated work space primarily for women, away from distractions at home, and also to run a series of events to support women in business.
“Most of all, I want The Workstead to feel welcoming and nurturing for everyone who comes to us. The business world can be so competitive, but women are by nature supportive of each other when they get together – I want to draw on this to help more women get ahead.”
Co-working spaces provide a dedicated workspace for those who don’t always have their own work space, and are ideally suited to start-up businesses and entrepreneurs, or those who want to avoid the isolation and distractions of working from home.
The Workstead offers up to 20 desk areas and a variety of flexible meeting options in a space that is light, bright, practical and creative, with kitchen facilities and tea and coffee.
Located on the outskirts of Winchester, it has free parking spaces for users, and is well connected to the M3 and A34.
Desk space and meeting areas can be booked by the hour, or on membership basis with additional benefits and flexible options.
