Williams & Co lands top industry awards

Williams & Co, the trade-only plumbing and heating merchant, has scooped trophies for both employee engagement and customer service. The Fareham-based company, which operates 39 trade counters across the southeast, won plaudits from employee engagement specialist Best Companies, along with awards at the annual Builders’ Merchants News Awards.

The company achieved ‘Outstanding’ in the UK’s Best 100 Large Companies To Work For accreditation from the organisation Best Companies, which has been measuring employee engagement since 2001. Williams’ staff provided a positive verdict on the company, with 84% of staff agreeing that "my manager shares important knowledge and information with me". In addition, 78% of staff said they were happy with the balance between their work and home life, while 77% said Williams encourages charitable activities.

Williams also received two accolades at the 2020 Builders’ Merchants Award. It won Customer Service of the Year for the second year running as well as the Award for Excellence.
