Westminster Group reports strong annual growth
Westminster Group Plc, the Banbury-based AIM listed supplier of managed security services and technology-based security to governments and government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGO's) and commercial organisations worldwide, has reported strong operational and financial growth for the year, and expects to report a significant increase in revenues over the previous year, maintaining its double digit year on year growth of recent years.
Both the Managed Services and Technology divisions have performed well for the year. Some key highlights include:
Passenger numbers for its West Africa airport operations for the year are at record levels and its new Ghana operations are performing well. The company expects its subsidiary Westminster International (Ghana) Ltd. to be an important and growing part of its business and Westminster has already secured other business in the country.
In June the company announced it was forming a 50.1% Group owned joint venture subsidiary, registered in Saudi Arabia, under the name Westminster Arabia. The company is already involved in several large-scale project opportunities in the Kingdom, including Saudi ports.
The company says it will enter 2020 with increased confidence underpinned by an order book of around £2 million and several million GBP in contracted revenues already in hand from our port, airport, guarding and maintenance contracts. Coupled with healthy enquiry levels and numerous project opportunities at various stages of development we anticipate 2020 will be another year of significant growth.
In December Westminster Group Plc announced that its Technology Division had secured a contract worth several hundred thousand pounds for the supply of a number of Body Scanners and associated equipment to a Custodial authority in South America.
The Body Security Scanner is used in custodial facilities suites to provide a non-intrusive method of detecting contraband items such as blades, narcotics, shanks, mobile phones concealed on the body, in body cavities and within the body.
