Chichester-based Oceanair Marine, the world’s leading supplier of blinds, shades, screens and soft furnishings for the marine market, has appointed Tom Chant as international sales manager.
Chant spent almost nine years at the British Marine Federation as international development manager, where he advised and supported member companies in increasing their exports. He is well acquainted with the industry's shows and is well connected with overseas yacht builders, distributors and project managers.
Speaking about his new position, Chant said: “I have joined Oceanair to support its extensive network of overseas partners. Distributors are at the coalface in each market and I want to learn about the business in the different territories and see where Oceanair can help further. I am very much looking forward to this new challenge and I look forward to meeting existing and new customers."
Chant is an experienced offshore sailor with two Atlantic crossings and two Fastnet races under his belt. He was also a Helm at Teddington Lifeboat Station for five years.
Chant will be attending Monaco Yacht Show, METS and conducting an international tour during the remainder of the year.
