Rural Oxfordshire is set to benefit from full fibre broadband

Voneus has partnered with Glenevin Construction Limited to bring fibre optic broadband to rural locations in Oxfordshire.

Voneus is one of the leading rural internet providers in the UK having already connecting hard-to-reach communities with ultrafast and superfast broadband across over 26 counties in England and Wales.

Having already successfully connected homes in Central Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and
Somerset, Voneus are now turning their attention to Oxfordshire and Warwickshire and
hope to add approximately another 17,000 homes to their fibre-optic network.

Sue Barnes, Chief Operations Officer at Voneus said: “Voneus are in the business of bringing
– and at times surpassing – urban connectivity to the rural areas of the UK. We are
passionate about this mission and have ambitious plans for bringing our service to the
communities that often are deemed either too expensive to serve or are over-looked
completely. Oxfordshire and Warwickshire are the next step in this plan, and we couldn’t
have asked for better partners than Glenevin to build this part of our network. We look
forward to a long and successful partnership with them.”

Glenevin are industry leaders in fibre and civils works from remote locations in the
Highlands and Islands to the very congested London and Home Counties.

They have delivered fibre to over 100,000 homes within the M25 driving the UK’s digital
revolution through Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC), Community Fibre Partnerships (CFP) and
Local Full Fibre Networks (LFFN) and are currently working hard to deliver to over 200,000
homes in both Glasgow and Edinburgh simultaneously through Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP).

Glenevin’s Managing Director Shaun Devlin said of the partnership: “We are delighted to
work with Voneus bringing our wealth of experience in delivering the finest fibre broadband
network to homes throughout Oxfordshire and Warwickshire with lightning-fast broadband
to their rural communities.”

Glenevin said they are looking forward to work with Cherwell District Council, sparking a
local jobs boost and building strong relationships with the local communities whilst
engaging with local schools on road and construction safety to keep everyone safe whilst
work is being undertaken.

“We’re excited to be involved in the role of digital infrastructure Full Fibre being delivered
to Oxfordshire with which we must all remain focused. Its speed and reliability is what sets it
apart to unleash the highest levels of economic, social, and environmental benefits while we
look forward to building relationships with the local communities throughout the delivery
stages,” added Shaun.

Work on Voneus’s new fibre network build is expected to start in May and service should be
ready for deployment by the end of this summer.
