Thames Valley Deals Awards 2022 now open for nominations
Thames Valley Deals Awards, staged by The Business Magazine and sponsored by Wealth Management firm UBS, returns on November 3.
The business celebration is the leading event in the region’s corporate finance calendar. Thames Valley Deals Awards brings together corporate finance advisers, lawyers, bankers, private equity investors, accountants, and funding specialists plus of course the management teams that have led the deals themselves.
We are grateful for the support from our partners: Headline Sponsor, UBS, Shawbrook, HMT, Shoosmiths, Crowe, Thincats, IBB Law, Gateley Legal, Blake Morgan and Eton Bridge.
The Business Magazine looks forward to welcoming more sponsors on board prior to the black tie evening at Reading FC Conference and Events based at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in Reading.
The qualifying period for the awards is for deals carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2021.
A total of 18 categories will be decided on the evening.
An award for the sale of a local business to a strategic acquirer that has the most impact on the local economy will be presented to the Corporate Deal of the Year winner.
With a high rate of mergers and acquisitions across the Thames Valley in 2021, it is expected that this will be a hotly contested category. Early nominations are advised.
Deals between business-to-business service providers, life sciences acquisitions, consultancy and financial and software development firms formed the majority of completed deals in the region in 2021. All are eligible for entry into the category as TV Deals is not sector specific.
We at The Business Magazine do not wish to celebrate only the done deal. It is important to acknowledge the team and individual behind the deals, those people who most significantly impacted on completion of deals within the region.
We will also acknowledge and reward those law firms and lawyers who got the big deals over the line. Were you impressed by the law firm that helped you close your company deal?
Not very many deals are finalised without the assistance of lenders, we have awards for both lenders in excess of and below deals valued at ÂŁ 10 million.
Another hotly contested accolade will no doubt be The Business Magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
This award is presented to a member of the corporate finance community who stands out for the work he/she has done in recent years and, equally importantly, for the esteem in which they are held among their peers and colleagues.
Anyone can nominate it is free, quick and ultimately a ringing endorsement of the work of the individual. Nominees can come from any sector, as can those nominating them.
Other categories include Outstanding Achievement Award, Private Equity Firm of the Year, Purpose Led Deal of the year and Young Dealmaker of the Year – Young being under 35 in this instance.
