Family-run independent travel agent  Triangle Travel has bought John Allan Travel, Didcot’s long established independent travel agency.

John Allan Travel has been located at 128 Broadway in Didcot for 29 years and has a reputation for providing an exceptional and proactive service for travellers of every kind.

John Allan, who has worked in the travel industry for 50 years this year,  intends to retire.

Rob Kenton, Managing Director of Triangle Travel, said: “John has built up a really strong business over the years and we are honoured that he has entrusted us to take on the stewardship of John Allan Travel. It has an excellent reputation and we very much plan to keep it the same way.

“John and I share the same views on how to operate a successful travel business, which is centred around delivering exceptional customer service and I am delighted that he is entrusting us to carry on with the business he lovingly built up over the years. We wish him and his wife a happy, well-earned retirement.”

Penny Wesson and Jill Mangan, who have worked with John for 12 years and 7 years respectively, will continue as front line senior travel consultants while becoming part of the extended Triangle Travel team. They are able to advise customers on all aspects of travel, whether it’s a cruise, package holiday, weekend break or a once in a lifetime tailor-made trip anywhere in the world.

The addition of this latest store to Triangle Travel brings the overall network to 5 travel stores, with their other agencies based in: Mortimer, Newbury, Pangbourne and Wallingford.

Rob added: “One of the things we are most proud of at Triangle Travel is the level of personal service we offer to customers and our attention to detail. We realise only too well how valuable a holiday is to our customers and therefore the importance of making sure it goes right from start to finish.”

Triangle Travel is a truly independent and privately-owned travel agency but benefits greatly from being part of The Travel Network Group. Being independent means that the agency is not tied to an airline or tour operator, so can give completely unbiased advice to customers and, with the backing of The Travel Network Group the UK’s largest travel consortium, it is part of a large powerful group that has access to many commercial deals, enabling them to offer amongst the best and most competitive prices available.

Triangle Travel is also fully bonded through its relationship with ABTA and The Travel Network Group meaning that customers are completely, 100 percent financially protected should the airline, tour operator or company they are travelling with encounter financial difficulties. “Customers want complete peace of mind when they are on holiday and given the current economic conditions and the fact that a number of travel companies have ceased trading in the last 12 months, we want to reassure our customers that when they travel with us, they are completely protected,” added Mr. Kenton.
