Chris Maw has taken the role of senior partner of PwC’s Uxbridge office, succeeding Suzi Woolfson.

Maw moved to the Thames Valley earlier this year from the firm's Norwich office, where he was office senior partner and leader of the East Anglian assurance practice. He brings a wealth of experience working with private and family-owned businesses. Throughout his 28-year career with the firm, Maw has worked with a wide range of privately-owned businesses from start-ups to those attracting private equity investment or undergoing an IPO.

Maw commented: “I am thrilled to be taking the helm in the Uxbridge office and I am looking forward to working with businesses in the area. We have an outstanding local team, dedicated to building long-term relationships with our clients, understanding their business needs and supporting them as trusted advisors.”

The firm has also announced a number of new partner and director appointments across its Reading and Uxbridge practices.

In Uxbridge, partners Sarah Quinn and Alex Hookway join assurance and Andrew Bell joins tax, while Alex Crompton has been promoted to director in assurance. In Reading, Dave Falmer has been promoted to assurance director, along with Alex Pascoe and Rachael Wilkinson who have been promoted to director within the Deals Team.

Miles Saunders, office senior partner, PwC in Reading, commented: “I’d like to congratulate all of this year’s promotions on their achievements. Throughout the downturn we continued to invest in our people and recruit high levels of experienced hires, graduates and school leavers, despite the uncertain economic environment.

"This has positioned us well for the return of market confidence and ensures that we have the right expertise in place to continue to deliver value to our clients. Our promotions and recruitment plans this year reflects our commitment to the Thames Valley market.”

These are just some of the individuals who have been promoted within the Uxbridge and Reading practices, along with a number of managers and senior managers. The firm is also recruiting record levels of graduates and school leavers to join the 750 strong Thames Valley practice in September 2014.
