Reading-based Goringe Accountants, National Apprenticeship Small Employer of the Year for the Thames Valley, has recruited a further apprentice, Alisha Vales.
“We are continuing to grow very quickly,” said founder-director Nicky Goringe Larkin. “We are recruiting lots of senior, specialist staff as well as being committed to training the next generation of accountants, auditors and tax specialists.
“Before her appointment, Alisha had self-funded her AAT, which we think is an impressive demonstration of how keen she was to start a career in accountancy. She is a fantastic addition to our accountancy and audit teams.”
Vales said: “I really enjoy maths and I’ve always wanted to work in a process-based job. While I was studying, I wanted to gain some hands-on experience, so I started applying for part-time jobs. I was so pleased when I found this role.
“I go to college two evenings a week, study in my spare time and I also have paid study leave. I’m able to apply what I learn during the day to my studies. Plus I am surrounded by experts, who are on hand to help if I get stuck with an assignment.”
Once she’s successfully passed AAT Level 4, Vales hopes to do ACCA, which will make her a fully-qualified chartered accountant.
Goringe Accountants will be recruiting for AAT and ATT apprentices in the summer.
