As the UK economy continues to recover, Reading-based law firm Boyes Turner reports seeing renewed energy from clients who are turning their thoughts from survival to growth. These companies – that have broken through the SME threshold or are SMEs looking to expand – are now thinking “what next?”.

The challenges they are facing are wide ranging and span from how best to use and protect their brands through to the age-old issue of how best to expand.

"These challenges are common among many of the organisations that we have helped break through the glass ceiling over the years,” said a spokesperson from Boyes Turner. "Our response is 'Beyond SME - What next?' - The Early Bird Series."

This is series of thought provoking talks from well-known business leaders who have successfully developed innovative ways to grow, target new markets and stand out from the crowd. It is designed to provide the opportunity for CEOs, MDs, FDs and other senior executives to discuss the challenges that they are facing and explore their options.

The series will launch on June 18, from 8am-10am, at Boyes Turner's offices in Reading, with Richard Farleigh, entrepreneur and former Dragon as the first speaker.

He will be followed at later events by Dan Germain, group head of brand and creative at Innocent; Gerald Ratner, one of the UK’s most well-known retailers, and Hamish Taylor, dubbed the “master thief” by the Inspired Leader Network for his record of taking ideas from one environment to use them in another.

Andrew Chalkley, Boyes Turner’s CEO, commented: “I’m genuinely excited to announce the launch of The Early Bird Series and the first of the events 'Beyond SME - What next?’.

"The speakers we have put together have been carefully chosen for their success in helping businesses to recognise and take advantage of opportunities and to grow.

"Having Richard Farleigh, who is one of the UK’s most prolific entrepreneurs and investors, at the first event is a great way to start the series. I’m sure that his experience of businesses ranging from private members’ club, Home House to online retailer Net-A-Porter and the highly-successful food company Reggae Reggae Sauce will be of immense interest to senior management teams throughout the Thames Valley.”
