Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP, in collaboration with premier PR and marketing agency, C8 Consulting, have announced the latest Thames Valley Business Barometer survey as now open.

With immediate effect, local businesses are encouraged to participate in this latest online survey, which will run until Friday November 15.

As well as a focus on economic confidence, revenue, headcount and profitability, the Barometer will put a spotlight on innovation. The survey asks participating organisations questions around the overall importance of innovation and how they embed it in their business, as well as the key drivers and investment intentions for the year ahead.

A new panel will also be formed comprising of a mix of business leaders from the Thames Valley region to discuss the findings and influence the direction of future surveys. Panel organisations will be represented at Barometer events, which precede and follow the launch of each report and a selection of businesses will also have the opportunity to be profiled alongside the full survey results in early January.

Simon Brooker, partner and head of BDO in the Thames Valley, commented: “As we slowly climb out of recession there will be more pressure on businesses to get ahead and innovate. Embedding innovation in a business can be the key differentiator between market leaders and their rivals. It will be really interesting to hear firsthand how innovative we are as a region.”

Paula Elliott, managing director, C8 Consulting added: “A key objective of the Barometer is to get those local businesses talking to one another about emerging business trends. One trend in particular that has come to the fore is the importance for the UK to remain innovative in order to compete on a global stage with other countries.”

To participate, the survey can be accessed via BDO’s website (www.bdo.co.uk) or via C8 Consulting’s website (www.c8consulting.co.uk). Alternatively a hard-copy of the survey can be printed out.

To nominate an inspirational business to be profiled, or if you are interested in becoming a Barometer panel member, please contact either Elliott (paula@c8consulting.co.uk) or White (ian.white@bdo.co.uk).
