Swindon Town Centre is to receive a private financial investment of more than £2 million to help establish a Business Improvement District (BID).
The Swindon Business Improvement District (BID), a private, not-for-profit organisation has received the backing of the town centre business community.
A remarkable 80% of ballots voted for continued support by inSwindon BID for the next five years. It will be the fourth consecutive term for the business development company.
inSwindon BID Director Anita Bellinger said: “The businesses have given us the opportunity to enhance, promote and champion the Town Centre for the next five years, in a fresh, new and creative manner, with our community at its heart.
"I would like to thank all our remarkable BID Members and partners, for not only showing their support for the work we have undertaken and are committed to carrying on, but for seeing the wider picture and investing in the bright future for the Town Centre.”
Cllr. Robert Jandy, Cabinet Member for Culture, Heritage, Leisure and Town Centre Experience, described the poll result as: “No surprise.”
