Surrey: Stormcatcher launches business support service to help safeguard SMEs
In light of recent changes to employment and consumer regulations, Surrey-based commercial and international dispute resolution firm Stormbreaker has launched a unique business support service for SMEs.
"These changes can make for a legal mine field," said senior partner Philip Harmer, adding: "Without easily-accessible resources and advice on hand, otherwise avoidable issues, disagreements and complaints can quickly turn into expensive problems. Currently almost 40% of businesses get themselves in hot water every year costing an average of £6,100, and this is on top of time, stress and reputational costs.
“Essential professional help, support and information has become a luxury beyond the reach of many small and medium-sized businesses, leading them to resort to Wikipedia and often spurious online self-help.”
Stormbreaker's new business support service, described by Harmer as a “Citizens Advice Bureau for businesses”, has evolved to meet this need; providing an entire ‘back office’ of documentation, contracts and guidance delivered by experts with in-depth legal and business experience, via advice and helplines.
Access to the service is either by monthly or annual subscription, providing unlimited access to a wide range of resources including a fully-outsourced HR and compliance department, and covering employment, trading and consumer law as well as business advice, complaints handling and mediation.
