Surrey: Midgley Snelling heads to China
Jonathan Farrow, a partner at Weybridge-based chartered accountancy firm Midgley Snelling LLP, will soon be swapping Surrey for Shanghai when he embarks on a business delegation trip to China.
Taking place from July 19-25, the trip is an opportunity for the firm to network and meet new clients, as well as assess business opportunities for existing clients.
This will be Farrow’s second visit to China and it has been organised by the two largest trade associations under the Chinese government: CCCME (which represents over 15,000 state-owned enterprises) and SHEC (which represents over 5,000 state-owned enterprises).
There will be a chance for Midgley Snelling to introduce itself and its array of services to enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, as well as meet the leaders of the China World Trade Centre (CWTO) – a Chinese Think Tank – and find out more about the business opportunities offered by the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
In addition, delegates will meet with two of the largest banks in China to develop links which may assist clients that need local banking facilities based in China.
Farrow said: “Our knowledge of local rules enables us to ensure that there is a seamless service between tax professionals in different jurisdictions. We also offer guidance and advice on international tax structuring, tax management and offshore tax planning and can also ensure compliance with complex tax rules around the world in cross-border transactions through in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of local rules. The involvement that Midgley Snelling LLP has with SMEs that are not UK clients sets the firm apart, especially in our native Surrey.”
