Sunseeker International has announced its continued support for the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride, which is due to take place, in association with Sunseeker, on Sunday, 4 July 2021.

The ride, which had to be postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, is organised by volunteers of the Dorset Bike Ride fundraising group on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support, and includes four routes of 38, 48, 63 and 100 miles around Dorset. Founded in 1989 by Peter Smith-Nicholls, the event is Smith-Nicholls’ way of continuing the fundraising started by his cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End and takes place annually on the first Sunday in July.

Sunseeker is proud to have sponsored the Macmillan Dorset Bike Rides since 2006, and this year will have a number of staff members taking part in support of the fundraising event. The ride, now in its 33 year, is close to raising £2 million for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Bryan Jones, marketing manager, Sunseeker International said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride as the official sponsor for the 16 consecutive year. It is a fantastic fundraising initiative for a great cause and it’s wonderful to see this local event continue to really make a difference.”

Smith-Nicolls, Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride organiser, added: “After a challenging year, we are so pleased to be able to run this event for Macmillan Cancer Support. It’s wonderful to see such fantastic community spirit as our riders pledge to fundraise essential funds for people living with cancer. I’m delighted to see so many registrations already from both previous participants and new riders. We will continue to take entries until the day of the ride itself so please sign up, have some fun with family and friends and together, we can make amazing things happen for Macmillan here in Dorset.”

Cyclists can enter online before the ride or enter on the day at Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground, Badbury View Road. All necessary support will be available, including refreshments, marshals, bike mechanics and a fully signed course.
