Staffing business sees turnover rise 600 per cent as its employees rise to 3,000

A Kenilworth-based event staffing business is enjoying significant growth after broadening its services into Covid-19 support and catering.

Aesthetics Event Staff has been helping customers manage the current labour shortages in the catering industry by providing support for the catering departments at sporting venues including a host of Premier League football grounds and stadiums.

The firm has balanced this alongside meeting growing demand at events and conferences since the summer. As a result, it has more than doubled the number of people it employs to around 3,000 and seen its turnover increase by 600 per cent.

It is not the first time Aesthetics Event Staff has adapted quickly to diversify into different sectors – a six-figure CBILS loan from Lloyds Bank helped the business shift to provide staff at Covid testing sites as events were put on hold. They have been providing clinically trained swabbers and support staff to the film and travel industry as well as airports, stadiums, and shopping centres.

Even as demand for events and catering staff increases, the business continues to assist testing sites across the UK.

Lee Thomas, managing director at Aesthetics Event Staff, said: “The staff shortages in the hospitality and catering sector have been much publicised, and we know this has affected a number of our customers. We have been quick to offer our support and have been able to provide the manpower and expertise that they need.

“The pandemic has been an incredibly difficult time for us, and the funding we received from Lloyds Bank was absolutely vital to ensuring we could not only survive the lull in the events industry during lockdown, but also lend our help to Covid testing sites. We’re grateful for their ongoing guidance and look forward to working with them as we continue to enjoy growth.”

Jasmine Kohli, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank, said: “Aesthetics Event Staff has been quick to adapt to the current landscape and it is fantastic to see them thriving as a result.

“The business has shown incredible resilience throughout the pandemic, and we’re pleased that they have been able to bounce back so emphatically. We will be by their side over the coming months as they look to maintain their impressive growth trajectory.”
