The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is inviting local businesses and stakeholders to a consultation session on October 6 at the Ageas Bowl in Hedge End to discuss progress on delivering the £2.8 billion Strategic Economic Plan to transform the local economy.
The event follows the recent announcement of £124.8m worth of funding investment secured from central Government's Local Growth Fund to deliver the first phase of the plan in 2015/16.
Attendees at the event will get to hear from the LEP on progress delivering the plan, as well as updates from key central government ministers and departments.
In addition, the Solent LEP will be seeking views from local stakeholders on the next phase of delivery to inform its bid to secure further funds for the local area in 2016/17.
Chairman of the Solent LEP, Gary Jeffries, who will be speaking at the event said: "After a very successful first round of negotiations, we have agreed with Government to start work on the next phase of delivering the Strategic Economic Plan immediately. To inform this, we want to hear views from all of our local stakeholders and, in particular, our innovative local business community. I would strongly encourage anyone who wants to engage with our work to come along to the event and get involved in the discussions."
