Southampton: New director and senior manager for Smith & Williamson
Rachel Hardy has been appointed as a director in the assurance and business services department at Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group. At the same time Mark Munro has joined the team as a senior manager.
With 15 years of experience in accountancy, Hardy joins the firm from Foresters Friendly Society, which was a long-standing client of hers from her nine years of working for BDO LLP. She is FCA qualified with the ICAEW.
She commented: “The depth and breadth of experience on offer at Smith & Williamson was of huge appeal to me. I am passionate about working with start-up and high-growth companies and specialise in the technology sector. I am looking forward to working with Smith & Williamson’s new scale-up initiative, which is seeking to help increase the proportion of scale-up businesses in the UK.”
Munro joins from James Cowper Kreston where he trained as an accountant and gained his ACA qualification. He has a wealth of experience of owner-managed and listed businesses and is well known in the local market due to his wide variety of clients.
Andrew Edmonds, head of assurance and business services, said: “They both bring with them a great deal of experience and strengthen our local team at an exciting time as we move to our new office. This further demonstrates our commitment to the South Coast region."
