Southampton: Clarke Willmott strengthens corporate team
Clarke Willmott LLP has strengthened its corporate and commercial teams at its Southampton offices by making two senior appointments.
Richard Swain has joined the corporate team as partner. He joins from Coffin Mew where he has advised businesses and individuals in the Solent region since 2000. He has been ranked in The Legal 500 where he was “unconditionally recommended”.
His main role will be to advise on all aspects of corporate law, specialising in business and share sales, acquisitions, MBOs, mergers/demergers, debt/equity, fundraising and investments. He will also advise on a variety of company-constitutional and general company law matters, as well as banking transactions, group re-organisations, joint ventures, articles of association, shareholder agreements, share options, partnerships, and start-up businesses.
Amy Kerr, also from Coffin Mew, will join the corporate team at the end of the month as senior associate. She specialises in corporate agreements.
Kevin Balmont, head of the Clarke Willmott Southampton office and head of the corporate team, said: “We are delighted to bring in two senior solicitors to strengthen the team.”
He added: “Their appointments follow on from a particularly busy year for the team, with a significant uplift in both the number and value of transactions undertaken in 2015.”
