Southampton Airport included in Solent Freeport

Southampton Airport will be part of the Solent Freeport, Cllr Daniel Fitzhenry, Leader of Southampton City Council, confirmed in our Solent Freeport Initiative webinar.
“This will add a uniqueness to this new development. Having the international airport, Southampton port and Portsmouth’s connections is a phenomenal opportunity. The Freeport is a fantastic moment for our city and the wider region."
He added that he expected the full business plan for the freeport would be signed off by the government by the second quarter of 2022.
Fitzhenry made the comments during the webinar, which included a panel discussion with accounting and business advisory firm BDO and law firm Shoosmiths.
