Member firms of MHA, the national association of independent accountants, have been recognised for their exceptional charity expertise and the service levels they provide in the annual Charity Finance Survey. Charity Finance Group is the charity that champions best practice in finance management in the voluntary sector and has recently published the results from the 22nd edition of its national survey.

The results indicated that of the nine MHA member firms, five received mentions and four received special mentions and the aggregated results of the MHA member firms puts the group in the top 10 providers of accountancy and advisory services to charities in the UK.

Sarah Case, head of the charity and not-for-profit sector at MHA, commented: “This is very good news for MHA and congratulations to all our member firms on achieving these excellent results. I know that they all work very hard to provide essential assistance on finance strategy and management that is needed by charity finance managers to ensure that all funding received is used effectively. Their hard work is certainly paying off.”

Charities will face a difficult year ahead as they deal with issues around the adoption of the new Statements of Recommended Practice (SORPs) and should seek advice about the options that are available to them. MHA has recently produced a Top Ten Issues document which may act as a useful prompt for its charity clients.

A copy of this document is available from Hannah Fish at MHA on 020-7429-4147.
