South: Spectrum expands London team with manager appointment

Spectrum Corporate Finance has announced that Sanj Benawra has recently joined the firm as a manager in the lead advisory team. He will be based in the London office but will work across all the Spectrum offices.

Benawra is a knowledgeable corporate finance professional with extensive experience which stretches across corporate finance boutiques, large plc finance teams and big four firms including KPMG and PwC. 

He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG London in 2013, working across both audit and transaction services teams. Following this he moved to Balfour Beatty PLC as a commercial analyst, working in the group finance, strategy and investor relations teams. Benawra joined the transaction services team of PwC London in 2014, where he specialised in financial modelling and data analytics, and focused on M&A work primarily with private equity clients.

Most recently Benawra was an associate adviser at a London boutique corporate finance firm, where he led M&A and fund-raising mandates for tech-enabled companies.

In his role at Spectrum, Benawra will work alongside the director team on all aspects of project management and delivery of both sell-side and buy-side transactions.

His appointment has been driven by the increasing demand for lead advisory services, particularly in London, and a healthy pipeline of work going into the second half of 2019.
