National law firm Shoosmiths has been shortlisted in the ‘Legal Advisor of the Year' category in the British Private Equity Awards, which celebrate innovation and excellence in private equity and venture capital.

The shortlisting recognises Shoosmiths' high-quality advice on private equity deals, relationships with private equity investors, commitment to service excellence and strength in depth of the national corporate team.

The firm’s national private equity team is highly experienced in advising management teams and institutional investors on all types of private equity transactions. By having core strengths in private equity together with specialist teams in tax, banking and finance it is able to deal with every type of transaction.

Corporate partners Emma Gibson and Sean Wright said they were honoured to be shortlisted for the award. "This recognises our dominance in the market, strength of our ties to private equity investors and the considerable volume of deals that we have completed in the last year to help British businesses drive forward their growth through investment."

Shoosmiths' corporate team advises public and private companies, management teams, investors and debt providers right through the entire business life cycle.

The winners of the British Private Equity Awards will be revealed on October 6 at The Brewery, London.
