Places are limited for the upcoming Women in Business Awards - so companies, professionals and executives that want to use this networking opportunity should act fast.
Joy Foster, the founder and managing director of TechPixies, is the special guest speaker at the awards night, taking place at Oakley Court Hotel, Bray, Near Windsor, on October 3.
Foster, who is passionate about helping women return to work, change careers or start a business, will be sharing her story of becoming an award-winning entrepreneur.
Foster is a mother of two and is married to Olympic gold medallist Tim Foster MBE. She is an avid sportswoman herself and was on the United States archery team from 2004 to 2007 and was invited to live and train at the Olympic Training Center.
Foster has a gold medal from Women’s Henley 2001 for winning the elite women’s coxless 4. She has run 2 marathons to raise money for cancer research and rebuilding schools in Darfur and completed the Prudential 100 mile bike ride in London to raise money for the NSPCC. Joy is currently training for an Ironman.
Before setting up TechPixies, Foster successfully launched two other social enterprises. An avid traveler, she loves exploring new countries and cultures. She has lived in four countries (US, France, UK and Switzerland) and speaks three languages (French, German and English).
TechPixies recently raised £150k of female-led investment and in doing so was able to move the full TechPixies programme online. In the spring of 2019, it launched the Step by Step Social Media Magic Course. In 2018, TechPixies won a suite of awards including Women in Business Startup of the Year 2018, the IoD Startup Director of Year for London and the South. TechPixies Founder Joy Foster was named to Grant Thornton’s 100 Faces of the Vibrant Economy.
