Legal firm Pitmans Law advised Key2 on its sale to Horizon Care and Education Group. Key2 work with young people across the south of England who have left local authority care by providing housing and support to help them build stable and successful futures.

Horizon Care & Education provides housing and education to young people and manages 40 homes as well as six schools across the Midlands and the North of England. By joining forces the group will help more young people across the country and offer local authorities a complete, nationwide service.

Stephanie Perry, Pitmans Law corporate partner, led the deal with John Hutchinson, managing partner, Jasmine Murphy, corporate senior associate, Richard Tweed, property solicitor, and Amy Murphy, property trainee solicitor.

In a joint statement, Key2 managing director Mark Hammond and Horizon chief executive Paul Callander said: “This represents an exciting opportunity which will enable us to extend our homes and services into new areas and improve what we offer to the children and young people we’re here to help.”

Perry added: “We are extremely pleased to have been able to advise on this key partnership and to have been involved in supporting an organisation that has such life-changing effects on the lives of young people. We’re delighted Key2 can now reach more young people with their much-needed services.”

HMT, led by partner Ian Barton, with tax advice from Holly Bedford-Bell advised the shareholders of Key2 on the deal.
