South: Moore Stephens comments on the world post Brexit
The owner managed business (OMB) survey published by Moore Stephens earlier in the year found OMBs to be cautiously optimistic, and particularly concerned about domestic competition, the strength of the UK economy and a UK skills shortage.
Mark Lamb, partner and head of OMB Group, said: “Less than half of OMBs surveyed (46%) thought leaving the EU would have a negative impact on their businesses.
"Over the past few days we have seen trade groups such as the Federation for Small Businesses (FSB) call for clarity from government on issues affecting OMBs, with a question mark surrounding the proposed 'Brexit model' that the UK will choose.
"While the true long-term effects of a Brexit take time to become clear, we expect OMBs to continue doing business with great optimism and spirit. Britain is still open for business."
