Businesses across Berkshire, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight will be able to receive free expert and specialist advice on preparing for Brexit and beyond.

Four Local Economic Partnerships (LEPs) in the South of England are working together, and with Government, to help businesses make important preparations for Brexit.

As part of a significant ramping up of the Government’s national business readiness programme, Enterprise M3 has been chosen to bring together Coast to Capital, Solent and Thames Valley Berkshire LEPs to support businesses as the UK leaves the EU.

Enterprise M3 chief executive Kathy Slack said: “Managing Brexit is critical to our local businesses and we are very pleased LEPs have been recognised by Government for our work to date in helping them to prepare.

"I particularly welcome the opportunity to work with partners to support businesses across a wide area of the South. Operating at scale can only mean we can share good ideas, reach more businesses and maximise the efficiency of our business support.”

The LEPs’ Growth Hubs, which focus on business support all year round, will play a central role in activities, including encouraging as many businesses as possible to attend, at no charge, one of the many Government EU Readiness Workshops and events being held across the region.

Businesses can get free, expert advice on what actions to take to get ready for Brexit from Government specialists from across departments. The events will include a keynote address, interactive support and advice stands, and in-depth sessions led by subject matter experts.

The Growth Hubs from EM3, Coast to Capital, Solent and Thames Valley Berkshire will also be at these regional events to showcase the LEP and Growth Hub support for business through Brexit and beyond.

Three Government Brexit Readiness Workshops are planned for the South:

Brighton October 15; Southampton October 16; Reading October 17.
